Kerins O'Rahillys GAA Club hosted an evening with State of Mind Ireland last Friday. Dr Susan Lawlor and her brother Dr Martin Lawlor of State of Mind Ireland gave a talk which dealt with issues such as mental health, wellbeing and suicide awareness. State of Mind Ireland is a joint initiative between University College of Cork (UCC), the Health Service Executive (HSE), Reach Out, All Island All Active (AIAA), Shine and The Centre for Recovery and Social Inclusion (CRSI). The overall aim is to improve the mental health, wellbeing and working life of sports players and sporting communities throughout Ireland. The programme team is comprised of service users, players, coaches, mental health experts and sport professionals.
